Construction site soil and groundwater protection
Item
Measures
Purposes and results
Sewage plans
● In the construction site planning stage, sewage pipeline arrangement is taken into
consideration.
● In situations where waste water from the construction site is included in the client's
existing waste water treatment facility, laws and regulations apply.
Minimizing dusting on the construction site and
preventing air pollution; Use for the cooling
method of concrete curing
Sewage channels
● Constructed using impermeable materials to prevent waste water entering the soil
and causing secondary pollution
Minimizing pollution from waste water entering
the ground; Sorting and collecting waste water
and rain water on construction sites using sewage
channels
Waste water from
living quarters
● Installing septic tanks
● Releasing into the sewage system of a neighboring business or city
● Contracting qualified and legal service providers for collecting, transporting, and
treatment
Minimizing pollution from waste water directly
entering the soil; Bathroom sewage is collected
in septic tanks and removed regularly by legal
contractors to prevent overflowing; Other waste
water from living quarters is released into the
sewage system.
Waste water from
construction
● Installing settling basins
● After the settling process, the supernatant is extracted for sprinkling on the
construction site.
● Waste water that does not contain hazardous substances and is not unclean is re-
used.
● When containing hazardous substances or is unclean, the water is treated on-site, or
by a contractor, to meet standards for effluent and then be released.
Preventing waste water from construction from
directly entering the soil; The water is collected
and sorted with equipment. The re-usable sorts of
water is re-used.
Waste water from
trial runs
● Waste water is collected according to water amount and quality for release or re-use.
To prevent waste water from trial runs to directly
enter the sewage system, the water is sorted
based on water quality for re-use or release into
legal pipeline.
Machinery
maintenance
● For regular machinery maintenance, oil change is not allowed on construction sites,
preventing pollution from leakage during the oil change process.
● Before machinery and construction vehicles leave a construction site, they are
required to be cleaned of mud using sprinkling equipment or washing pools. The
waste water from car washing is appropriately handled.
Machinery is maintained and repaired regularly
to prevent exhaust that does not comply with
regulations. Oil seals are changed regularly to
prevent leakage of heavy oil.
