Greenhouse Gas Emission Checkup
To demonstrate the resolution to mitigate climate change
with all countries in the world, CTCI has included greenhouse
gases (GHG) and other climate change issues into the top
priorities of the CSR environmental protection team. Annual
greenhouse gas emission inventory, implementation of
energy-saving and carbon reduction plans, climate change
risk and opportunity assessment, and formulating response
strategies are all main responsibilities of the environmental
protection team. This team is one of the three components
of CTCI's CSR task force, which is directly answerable to
the CSR committee, whose chairperson is the President
of the company. At the regular CSR committee meetings,
the environmental protection team reports directly to
the President on the effectiveness of greenhouse gas
management and results of responses to climate change.
Because the CSR committee is supervised by the corporate
governance committee, which answers to the Board of
Directors, it reports to the Board via the President on strategic
suggestions regarding climate change, as reference for long-
term strategies.
CTCI's greenhouse gas emissions have been verified
by a third party since 2012. GHG inventory will continue to
be conducted annually to serve as basis for future carbon
reduction and carbon management. Currently, the GHG
inventory of scope 1 and scope 2 cover CTCI's headquarters
building. In 2015, CO
2
e for the two scopes were 247.8 and
3,184.3 tons respectively. Because CTCI is in the construction
technical service industry and is a leading brand and
environmental pioneer domestically, we shall gradually
implement greenhouse has checkup in all major construction
sites. Emission in scope 3 will also be a focus for greenhouse
gas inventory in the future. With the implementation of
inventory and verification, we aim to conduct greenhouse
gas reduction with our partners in the value chain. In 2015,
because the amount of construction increased, we did not
achieve the greenhouse gas reduction goals for construction
sites. At our headquarters, because fuel consumption of
company cars increased, the emission in scope 1 was slightly
higher than the goal.

Note 1: The emissions at the headquarters building have been verified by an independent third party.
Note 2: The emissions at construction sites were estimated based on currently available information and have not been verified.
Note 3: The goals were to remain below the average of the previous two years.
