Club Activities
Besides various activities and measures geared
at promoting physical well-being, CTCI is also
committed to promoting club developments, in
order to offer employees a channel for stress relief
from their busy lives. And for employees to become
closer to one another and to be more loyal, as well
as to create a healthy and happy work environment
that is inductive to learning and sharing. The Welfare
Committee allocates extra budget each year, and if
creative proposals from clubs are approved then the
clubs would receive extra funding, hence members
would have more chances of participating in fun-
filled activities. Currently we have 19 clubs: sports-
oriented clubs include basketball club, badminton
club, table tennis club, baseball club, swimming club,
hiking club, tai-chi club, and qi club. Non-sports-
oriented clubs include: photography club, painting
club, home ec club, music club, faith hope and love
club, Buddhism club, reading club, recreation club, IT
research club, English club, and bridge club. Besides
having equipment and facilities such as ping pong
tables within the building, Company HQ also assists
employees to rent sports venues at discounted
prices, in order to offer venues for sports and
clubs.
Employees don't necessarily need to belong
to a club, every employee, and even their
spouses, are allowed to freely participate in
activities hosted by every club. Each year, not
only does the Company offer financial aid for club
activities, the club evaluations held at year-end
are voted by all Company employees. The best
clubs are voted as "Excellent, Great, Good, or
Satisfactory" by results of the elections, and each
level would receive different amount of financial
aid. Besides routine gatherings, CTCI also hosts
various activities with the Welfare Committee.
For instance, our clubs had provided games and
volunteers, who went to nursing homes to play
with the kids, second-hand donation activities
tied-in with charity events, charity marathons,
and getaways held in collaboration with travel-
oriented clubs. We collaborate with Blood
Donation Center and encourage employees to
participate in blood donations. CTCI's average
donation has even reached 1,800 bags per year.
