Assessment of Impacts to the Community
CTCI targets for lowered project impacts to the society,
and hopes to develop harmoniously together with the
local community and environment, to carry out necessary
corporate social responsibility measures, and to work toward
sustainability. We conduct initial impact assessment pertaining
to the local environment, society, inhabitants, and health, and
continue to conduct environmental quality monitoring prior
to the commencement of each project. We are committed
to facilitating in the protection of local vital resources, and/
or to offer any employment opportunities. And we participate
or sponsor local activities together with other organizations,
and we value the enhancement of the quality of life in
local communities. We have carried out necessary, positive
protective measures to all domestic projects that pose
significant or potential direct impacts to the local communities,
according to the results of negotiations or initial assessments.
This is done in accordance with government policies and
regulations and client requirements, and through channels
such as communications with the local community or active
facilitation. We carry out relevant measures according to
the characteristics of the individual operational location and
results from communications and negotiations. The primary
forms of these measures have included: hiring local residents,
offering job opportunities, increasing local employment
rate, and renting local space, houses, and warehouses, in
order to enhance local economic development. Moreover,
we have also promoted for local sourcing, offered technical
guidance, implemented pollution prevention, and focused on
green engineering to ensure environmental quality. We have
partaken in local activities and valued local culture to seek
for recognition from our neighboring community. Whenever a
situation has occurred, we would definitely conduct feedback
and review and continue to strengthen communication and
negotiation. In the past 3 years, CTCI has not received any
complaints pertaining to impacts
to the community.
